Wonder Animals.

Recently, while having supper at a restaurant, I was given a dinner roll. While picking it apart, it reminded me of sculptural clay. I began sculpting this dough because I would not eat it and I knew it would be thrown out. I was doing my part to recycle this material, and use it for a good cause: Art.

I sculpted a kangaroo. Then, I had a revelation…

I am aiming for hundreds, if not thousands of small animal sculptures for this exhibition project. This project is in its infancy. I have only begun the sculptures. This project will be ready for exhibition in the spring of 02009.

Please sir, more bread.

About bread sculptures.

Bread sculptures will be a project using bread and buns received at various restaurants I will be visiting in the future. This bread will be sculpted into small animals either at the venue or after the fact. I am currently exploring this material because, most of the time, the quality of these types of breads is very poor, and I would like to show the potential of the material. Also, I am using this material because, as I will not eat it, it is served and usually goes into the garbage; therefore, I will be doing my part in recycling and making Art at the same time!
I guess I also wonder why some (fancy?) restaurants would serve a bun that is so awful with a relatively expensive meal...
Besides, what is this bread made with? What kind of bread has so much malleability it feels like sculpting plasticine?

Getting lost...

is no grand feat, is it?

Seeing things...

Ok, so I haven't been blogging much.
I've been busy with stuff, not things (because things are always more interesting!).

Future?

The shop of the future?
...need I say more...
been long.
I will begin doing things more frequently.
I need to.
necessity is.

Sometimes there are ugly distortions of memory.

"...as emptiness lies there, like the black, cold pool it is."

Somewhere, it takes a while for familiarity.

I hope you are breathing calmly now.

and we can still see the distance... from here it looks like a long road.

And the sky would become immense.

The Mighty Exit.
Forever a just a doorway.
Perhaps this is the liminal space...

Subjects are changing and there is still good in the world, this I am certain.

Composing with these turn of events at the moment.
[ReFocusing]
Sometimes Depth of Field is what we need...

So now I work (for you).

And the process begins anew.
I am fully capable of understanding things, this I know.
You taught me strange, wonderful things...

And so things change.

I am sorry. But I can't change anything...
Say Hi to Gerry for me.
